At ICL and Kodak he was an early participant in the development of the first Import/Export and Customs Systems jointly developed by HM Customs and the IT/ High Tech industry.
Paul has helped much of UK industry complete the transition from ill trained "Shipping People" working with masses of paper in the basement to professional Logistics staff working on some of the most sophisticated Inventory Control, Warehousing and Customs Systems in the world. Paul is expert in all the detailed provisions of the Customs Procedures such as Inward and Outward Processing, Customs Warehousing etc which save UK industry untold sums annually.
He has expert knowledge in Import/Export management, shipping experience of over 100 countries worldwide and can assist companies in developing the expertise and systems to move products throughout the world, balancing service and speed against the lowest possible cost.
He has implemented IT systems and projects for Duty & VAT management and reduction including Period Entry, CFSP, Intrastat and the New Export System.
Paul is a member of the Institute of Logistics & Transport and has presented papers at InTrade (International Trade Exhibition & Conference - London).
Comes to L&D from a background working in the Freight Industry for one of the industry leaders, DHL Global Freight where he had a high level of interfacing with all major shipping lines and internal/external customers.
The role involved working as an individual and having responsibility for account management of key customers needs and opportunities.
Responsibilities within L&D include Post Entry activity and compliance checks for various traders, tariff classification corrections and interfacing with many departments and officers within HM Revenue & Customs.
Ownership of key accounts and certain projects particularly in the area of duty relief programs such as IPR.
